About Ed-Tech Creations Page PhotoA background that consists of formal training and years of experience in both software development and education…
Ed-Tech Creations has been providing professional educational technology services since 1983, when microcomputers began appearing in local classrooms. This allowed Sally Sutton, founder and director of Ed-Tech Creations, to combine her background in mainframe computer programming and systems analysis with her K-12 teaching credentials. Since that time Ed-Tech Creations has been promoting the use of computers in education and training individuals to use computers. When needed, Ed-Tech Creations uses freelance professionals from the fields of Communications and Multimedia Development, as well as other certified teachers. Our team works in a collaborative environment with clients to help everyone realize their vision within financial and scheduling realities.

Broad experience that covers popular cross-platform software products in multiple user settings…
Our technical expertise allows us to quickly adapt to different software products or computer models. Over the years, Ed-Tech Creations has kept up with and worked with new technologies as they emerged—word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics/animation, audio/video, hypermedia/multimedia authoring, and Web publishing. The Ed-Tech Creations client list covers the 2 main groups shown below, plus numerous small businesses and individual clients.

  • Public and private schools for K-12 and higher education, including Livingston School District, North Caldwell School District, West Caldwell/Caldwell School District, Essex County Vocational Schools, The Chubb Institute, Dwight Englewood School, Joseph Kushner Hebrew Academy, Rutgers, the State University of NJ, Caldwell College, and Passaic County Community College

  • Publishing companies and educational organizations, including Silver Burdett Ginn, a former division of Simon & Schuster, CEO Software Solutions, New Century Education Corporation, Development Learning Systems Foundation, NJ Educational Computing Cooperative (NJECC), and Network for Action in Microcomputer Education (N.A.M.E.)

Ed-Tech Creations takes pride in its versatile, thorough, flexible team players, who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can effectively deal with all levels of management. We are accustomed to the fast pace, priorities, and deadlines of both the corporate world and the academic schedule. A professional, healthy, and user-friendly philosophy of computing and working with clients…
All of our services are based on a balanced use of technology, in which the individual, ideas, and the environment are as important as the technology itself. Computers are powerful tools, yet they are only tools. Ed-Tech Creations helps people get the most use out of their computers and software, according to their specific needs, interests, and skill levels. Our methods guide software users in ways that reduce common fears and dissatisfaction with technology. We do this by emphasizing 4 approaches.

  • Developing an open, one step at a time, discovery attitude towards using computers

  • Using techniques that can be applied to any computing environment, not just a specific product or computer

  • Increasing awareness of the potential for creativity, communications, and production

  • Teaching clients how to teach themselves

This structured assistance produces positive attitudes as well as increased technical knowledge. Both results are important in enabling clients to take their next step in the integration of technology.

A client-centered, deliberables-oriented work process for all products and services…
Ed-Tech Creations follows an analysis-design-development-testing-implementation process in all its work.

  • First we analyze the problem—review your request, collect materials, and discuss criteria for success to determine exactly what's needed.

  • Then we design and develop the desired solution.

  • Implementation occurs with the delivery of all final product files and printouts to the client platform and the presentation of user instructions and demos.

Staged results and user-signoffs at agreed-upon checkpoints occur throughout the process. For example, all services start with either a Product Plan or Training Plan, documenting such specifics as goals, requirements, schedule, and costs. EZ-Media and EZ-Software custom development also include Design Specifications, and at least one Preliminary Model. Depending on the scope of the product, deliverables may include page/screen layouts, comps, storyboards, flowchart, site maps, and additional versions. This work process enables our clients to provide timely feedback, stay engaged in decision making, and feel confident that they will get results on-time and within budget.
